The Matchup of #19 Rainier Beach (5-1) vs #8 O’Dea (5-1) will be the game you want to hit this week!

A Look into Rainer Beach

Rainier Beach is a star studded team with D1 prospects all over their roster. Rainier Beach has 7 athletes that already hold D1 offers as well as a couple others that should be close. Offensively it all starts up front with their 4-star University Of Washington Commit Nate Kalepo (6-6 310) at right tackle. Guiding the offense is 2-star quarterback Max Nall (6-1 175) who has been slinging it and for good reasons with targets like senior receivers Mason Starling (6-4 195) Anthony Stell (5-11 180), and Jarrell Anderson (6-5 230) who are all 3-star prospects with multiple D1 offers. The ground game is headlined by two seniors in 3-star speedster Jarious Jones (5-10 180) and 3-star ATH Freddie Roberson (6-2 180). Defensively it’s all about 3-star cornerback Darrien Sampson (6-1 170) who’s a long press corner with multiple D1 offers as well.

Keys to winning

The biggest Key for Rainier Beach will be their front seven. Beach will need to get a great push up front otherwise they will fall victim to the potent ground attack of the fighting Irish.

The X Factor

The X Factor for Rainier Beach will be senior Defensive Tackle Marcus Pressley (6-5 300). Pressley will need to be that force at defensive tackle for Rainier Beach as they hope to slow down the running game of O’Dea.

A look into O’Dea

O’Dea is a run first team that is led by senior tailback Jamynn Patu (6-0 195) who is a considered among the top running backs in the state. Along with Patu in the back field is fellow senior Connor Gregoire (5-9 190) who brings another tough runner to the O’Dea ground game. Leading the passing attack is junior Quarterback Emonte Scott (6-3 195) who has the ability to run and throw the ball. Defensively the irish are led by senior lineman VJ Malo (6-1 245) who is a terror up front and junior corner Mishael Powell (6-0 180) and fellow senior safety Parker D’Anna (5-11 190).

Keys to winning

For O’Dea after a tough loss last week to Eastside Catholic and regroup against a very Athletic Rainier Beach squad and have their Oline ready to pound the rock to keep the vaunted beach offense off the field.

The X Factor

The X factor for O’Dea is their entire offensive line. Rainier Beach is loaded with athletes all over the field and it will be pertinent that O’Dea slows this game down.

Bottom Line

This game will be a lot closer than people think.

This game will be a good one but I’m going with the upset this week 22-20 Rainier Beach over O’Dea.
