With soccer being a global sport, we pride ourselves on the soccer players at Ford Sports Performance. Soccer is both anaerobic and aerobic; athletes must balance type 1 and type 2 muscle fibers. The cardiorespiratory aspect of soccer is significant for success,
We begin with implementing correct running mechanics to enhance speed and improve running efficiency. Once an athlete has the principles of running down, we shift towards change-of-direction, speed, and agility to allow the body to develop before layering in ball skills. Knee strengthening exercises, ankle stability work, and quad/hamstring maintenance are focus areas throughout the training. Like other sports, here at FSP, we include sport-specific lifting programs to benefit and complement the skill-specific training on the field.
